LIVE BLOG FROM ICF BREAKOUT

1st fight of the night:
Justin Hunt 3-1 Ammy Record vs. Alex Suhonosov Debut (Team Gurgel)
Very impressive win for Suhonosov early in the 1st round due to strikes.
Keep an eye on this kid.
Coming up a tremendous matchup between TTC Future Star Steve Muldrow and Matt Egner:
1st RD: Both fighters felt each other out with Muldrow controlling the ground action.
Close 1st round. I give Muldrow a close 1st round.
2nd RD: Great 2nd round. Close very close round. Egnar had a guillotine choke on Muldrow, sunk in deep as the horn sounded. 2nd rd to Egnar. A round a piece as we go to the 3rd and final round.
3rd RD: Muldrow starts the round with a judo throw and gains control in Egner's full guard. Edner then gets Muldrow in a triangle choke. Muldrow continues to fight it and eventually escapes the hold. Pure strength. Very close fight to call.
I give the fight to Muldrow 29-28.
Judges score the fight to Steve Muldrow via a unanimous decision.

Next Fight: Chris Curtis (enters to Ricky Martin, very comical, typical Chris) vs. Taylor Ruscin
Both fighter start agressive with Curtis landing punches and Ruscin landing kicks. Rusin lands a beautiful take down and controls Chris' back. Curtis controls Taylor's hands from the front.
Great escape by Curtis only to be followed by a wicked slam.
1st Rd to Ruscin.
2nd RD: Ruscin takes Curtis to the ground and controls him there. Not much happening. Referee Greg Franklin should stand them up. Beautiful escape out of the back door by Curtis.
Not much happened in the second round. Ruscin wins via the takedown.
3rd RD: Curtis will need a stoppage to win the fight. Another slow round with Ruscin controlling the action but not inflicting any damage. Ruscin will win via unanimous decision. Might have been a different fight had it been stood up. Nothing really happened. As always, judges rule in favor of the fighter on top no matter what happens.
Official Decision: Ruscin via unanimous decision

Next Fight: Marcus Finch 3-1 Ammy Record vs. Tyler Johnson 2-0 Ammy Record
For ICF Middleweight Championship.
Tremendous matchup of two extremely talented and well conditioned athletes. The fight starts out with some striking. Johnson gains groung control and looks for a series of submission moves. Great 1st round. Ending with Finch landing a series of hammer punches.
2nd RD: Finch lands an impressive take down landing in Johnson's full guard. Finch continues to land hammer strikes and full punches. Finch is very strong. Tyler is very good in his guard. Great matchup. Referee stands them up. A flurry of stikes. Johnson gets Marcus in a Thai clinch and lands some wicked knees. Close round to call. I give it to Finch.
A round a piece. The 3rd round will be the decisive round. Tremendous fight thus far.
3rd RD: Both fighters are a little more cautious. They get in a clinch. The fight turns into a boxing match with Finch throwing some haymakers. Finch ends the fight with a solid punch.
TTC Scores the fight 29-28 Finch.
Official Decision: Marcus Finch wins via Unanimous Decision

Next Fight: Women's match: Jami Miller vs. Tiffany Johnson
Very aggressive start. Both landing punches. Miller gets Johnson's back attempts a RNC.
Miller wins via tapout due to a RNC

Next Fight Ron Mitchell 4-1 vs. Rob Galloway 2-2 both ammys:
Two big guys going at. Mitchell gets a big take down and tries to pass guard.
Ron lands some wicked strikes and knees to the ribs.
Wicked strikes knocks Galloway down and ends the fight due to referee stoppage. Powerful punches. A series of overhand rights stopped the fights.

Next Fight TJ Ball 2-0 vs. Kevin Barton 1-0 Ammy Records
TJ starts aggressive but Barton takes him to the ground. Barton controls TJ. Ball maintains full guard. TJ attempts a kimura and comes dangerously close.
1st round ends with Barton in control. 1st round goes to Barton.
2nd RD: Ball starts the round very aggresively landing some strikes. Barton quickly takes him to the ground. Barton controls Ball then TJ escapes landing several strikes. Barton quickly gains the top position again. 2nd Round goes to Barton.
3rd RD:
Ball needs a stoppage to retain his title.
Barton quickly takes the fight to the ground and again controls the fight. Barton is very skilled at using his leverage to control the fight. Ball cannot escape Barton's clutch.
Close round to call. Either way, Barton is the new champ.
Official Decision: The winner via split decision: Kevin Barton is the new ICF Light Heavyweight Champion.

1st Pro Fight- Carson Gainey vs. Jeremy "Pony Boy" Pender (Pro Debut) 3 five minute rounds
Pender has a height and reach advantage standing in at 5'10" with Gainey at 5'3".
The round starts with both fighters feeling each other out. Several strikes landed but nothing of serious nature. Gainey lands an impressive take down and gains ground control. The fight goes back to the stand up with both fighters feeling each other out. The fight slows to a crawl with little action. Pender lands a solid knee as the 1st round ends.
1st round to Pender but very close.
2nd ROUND- Pender throws some leather to start the 2nd round. Gainey attempts counter punches but nothing lands. Pender avoids a takedown with an impressive sprawl. He then rolls and takes Gainey's back. Gainey uses his hands effectively to avoid the RNC attempt. Gainey escapes and takes the fight back to their feet. Another clinch and to the ground. Pender quckly gets Gainey in a RNC and ends the fight. A very impressive pro debut.

Next Fight: Daniel Straus 6-2 vs. Mike Baskis 4-0
1st RD: Staus lands a very good takedown, slamming Baskis to the ground. Straus maintains the top position. Little is taking place as Baskis has an effective guard. Baskis attempts an arm bar, Straus fights it off. Straus wins the 1st round by controlling position and landing punches from the mount.
2nd rd- Straus starts aggressively throwing punches and kicks. Baskis attempts some kicks as well. Neither fighter is landing anything. Nothing but stand up thus far in this round. Each fighter lands a flurry of punches. Baskis misses with a spinning back fist. Straus lands a solid knee to Mike's midsection. Straus has an impressive takedown and gains the top position. Daniel ends the round with another takedown. Straus wins the round.
Baskis must win via stoppage to win the fight.
3rd Round-
The round begins with Straus continuing to be the aggressor. He misses some strikes but is constantly pushing forward. This will go a long way in affecting the judges decision. Straus continues to throw leg kicks which will dictate Baskis' style. Good fight thus far. Both are very skilled fighters. The fight stalls with neither fighter landing any strikes. Blood flows down Baskis' face. Straus picks Baskis up and slams him to the ground with a wicked thud. Straus maintains control as the round ends. The 3rd round also goes to Straus. He should win via a unanimous decision.
Official Decision: Straus via UD
Next Fight: Luke Zachrich 8-1 vs. Robert Thompson 7-3
1st Round: Zachrich of TUF fame receives heavy applause as the fighters come to center ring. The fighters feel each other out for a bit then Luke lands heavy knees. The fight has been in the stand up for the entire fight thus far. Midway through Luke takes Thompson to the ground and assumes side control. He continues to try to land elbows. Thompson escapes and the fight goes back to the stand up. Luke lands some effective leg kicks which push Thompson back. Blood trinkles out of Thompson's nose. The 1st round ends. Easily won by luke.
2nd Round: A very aggressive 2nd round. Luke landed several more leg kicks followed by effective punches. Thompson slipped in a good right. The leg kicks are taking their toll. They are taking away Robert's aggressiveness. Good crisp right hands being thrown by Luke. Good round with some haymakers being thrown. Luke continues to land very good leg kicks. Thompson's leg is very wobbly. The 2nd round easily goes to Luke.
3rd Round: The final round starts in the stand up. Luke continues to pulverize Thompson's legs. Thompson backs up and looks very weary. Luke continues to force the action dictating the style and pace of the fight. He takes Thompson down trying to sweep his guard. Luke gains side control and lands several hammer strikes with his left hand. Thompson taps out due to a key lock. Great victory for Luke.

Next Fight: Chad Hinton 3-0 vs. Jeff Cox 10-7
The fight starts, Hinton lands a kick to the groin, accidental. The action is momentarily halted.
The fight resumes with Hinton landing several leg kicks. The fight goes to the ground with Cox having control. Cox lands several left hands to Hinton's ribs. Hinton controls Cox's hands to prevent a submission attempt. The fight goes back to the stand up with each fighter posturing for position. The referee seperates the fight and brings them to the center of the cage. Each fighter is very cautious and deliberate knowing the danger of rushing into something. Hinton uses his balance to avoid Jeff's takedown attempt. The 1st round ends in the clinch. Tough round to call. I give it to Hinton due to the kicks landed.
2nd Round: The round starts slowly with Hinton landing a heavy left hook knocking Cox to the ground. Hinton quickly jumps on Cox landing several strikes when Referee Greg Franklin stops the fight. HUGE WIN for Chad Hinton.
Next Fight: Dan "The Sandman" Christison vs. Marcio Cruz:
Big time match up. Cruz has elite BJJ and The Sandman extensive experience in the cage. Great matchup.
1st Round: Sandman does everything he can to keep the fight up on his feet. Cruz's ground game is elite. Sandman has height advantage and attempts to use it. The fight is at a very slow pace to start with conflicting styles. In the clinch Cruz lands several knees. Cruz gets Dan on the mat and works for a submission. Cruz maintins top control looking for a submission. Sandman is very experienced and manages to escape all submission attempts. The 1st round ends with Cruz in control. Cruz wins the 1st round.
2nd Round: The round starts with some striking and a big leg kick missed by Dan. Cruz attempts a takedown but Dan uses a very impressive sprawl to escape. Dan lands a leg kick that didn't hurt Cruz but racks up points. Cruz takes Dan down and assumes the top position looking to pass guard. Cruz gets past the guard into full mount. He ldropps down some elbows racking up points. Cruz lands strikes from teh top position. Dan can not get the fight into his comfort zone in the stand up. The 2nd round ends with Cruz on top. A very technical fight with Cruz up 2 rounds to zero.
3rd Round: The fight resumes with Sandman showing the effects of the elbos as blood trickles down hi sface. The fight stays in the stand up with Dan landing some effective strikes. Cruz maneuvers and takes Dan to the ground. Dan reverses postion and gains control. Cruz has yet to attempt his patented submission moves. Dan continues to maintain position. Cruz lands an effective up kick. The fight goes back to the ground with Cruz gaining position in side control. He then moves to north-south position. Cruz grabs his back attempting to sink in his legs. The final bell rings. Cruz via UD.
Official Decision: Cruz via UD.
Next Fight Main Event Victor O'Donnell 7-0 vs. Forrest Petz 17-6
A great matchup. Petz has extensive experience including in the UFC. Victor is explosive with powerful hands. Should be fun to watch.
1st Round- Both fighters throw several punches nothing of consequence landing. Petz has a great take down and assumes the top position. Victor raises up and attampets a triange choke. Petz fights the move by posteruring up and escapes. The fight goes back in the stand up briefly before Victor takes Forrest down. Petz latches on to avoid strikes. The 1st round ends with Victor in control. The 1st round goes to Victor.
2nd Round- Both fighters dance and move bobbing in and out. Each lands solid strikes. Forrest lands a solid leg kick. Victor rushes and takes Petz to the canvas. Victor works to take control but Petz manages to avoid anything serious. They release and work back to the center of the cage. Victor lands a punch then leaves. Neither fighter is landing any combinations. Victor lands a superman punch then several punches and a roundhouse kick. Victor takes control only to be reversed by Petz. Petz lays on top holding his position but not improving his position. Victor reverses and gets the full mount. Victor postures up landing strikes forcing Petz to give up his back. Victor quickly attempts a RNC. He gets it and Petz taps out. Monster victory for local fighter Victor O'Donnell.
