UFC 97 Give me a break!!

UFC 97 was an atrocious event at best. Unfortunately we most likely witnessed the end of Chuck Liddell. No matter the training Chuck receives he still hasn't evolved his game or realized he needs to keep his hands up. He looked helpless and totally outclassed. Its difficult to watch legends compete when their skills have eroded. As typical with Dana White and UFC, it was clearly about hype and popularity instead of merit. Chuck Liddell had no business being the "co main event".

I'm so sick of hearing Mike, Joe and the whole cast of characters continue their marketing of Anderson Silva as the best P4P in the world. The fact is Silva has had consecutive lackluster performances against mid level talent. Cote and Leites completely took Silva out of his game leaving him confused and dazed as a cast of boos reigned down. Has this happened to the great Fedor? Not a chance. When facing BJJ experts in the past, Fedor simply went to the ground and pounded his competition mercifully. Has GSP ever give up and danced to victory? I think not...
Silva now fights cautious and doesn't resemble the aggressive fighter with an immense killer instinct we have grown to love.

During the broadcast, Rogan continued to attempt to camoflague the truth by stating the casual fans didn't know what was happening and only want to see blood. Come on Joe, give me a freaking break. This isn't Fear Factor you schmuck! The fact is neither Silva nor Thales did anything in the 1st round. I mean anything. Its not about blood and gore Joe its about action, its about trying to improve your position and most of all its about trying to win the fight not have judges give it to you for the 5 leg kicks you landed.
UFC, understandably so, is always trying to protect their product. Last night, they looked foolish trying to do so.

My unedited rant...
